We have been lucky to purchase some beautiful maple stock blanks at a very reasonable price. Most of these blanks are fully figured with either fiddleback or quilted markings. Differences in grade are very subtle, and the pictures here are simply representative of what is available.

The picture above is of grade 3 fiddleback maple, which is typical for our standard grade rifles. Upgrades to fancy (grade 4) and extra fancy (grade 5) will have deeper and more consistent figure. This stock has been stained a medium color. Maple can also be left unstained or stained dark like the original flintlocks The picture below shows a fancy (grade 4) stock with the dark stain.
